So it’s coming up to that time of year where the 11+ looms. Ivy is a really shy girl and Steve has really brought out her confidence and made her think she can reach her goals. Ivy’s goal was to believe in herself and Steve has definitely helped her. Ivy says with Steve she realises she can answer and put her hand up in class because she no longer doubts herself. My Daughter went to the Kent Test today feeling ‘excited but nervous’ in her words. From start to finish Steve has built up her confidence to the point that she was looking forward to completing the test. She even followed his handy tips on sleep and downtime – I think you should do tutoring just on these Steve! Thank you so much for giving her the belief in herself that we can’t always as parents.

Steven is really fun, he makes learning fun and whenever I want to do a Kahoot or a maths mystery he gets one for next week and he always makes things easy and breaks it down and when I’m nervous he always makes me laugh and we talk about it. The first time I met him he got all the things I liked because my mum told him and we had so much fun! I would definitely recommend him and he makes learning so much fun and easy!!! I cannot recommend Steve enough! Due to lockdown and a bereavement in the family, my daughters confidence spiralled down. I contacted Steve and explained my concerns and he was extremely understanding. After a short while of tutoring, my daughter progressed massively in maths and English. She looked forward to her sessions and didn’t see it as added hours of school work (I didn’t want her to feel like we were extending her school day). Steve made the sessions fun and easy to understand. He made learning seem easy and enjoyable. Her results in 11+ proved how good he is. Even her teacher saw a huge difference in her work and confidence. Highly recommend and thank him so much for putting the spark back in my daughters learning.

I was really apprehensive about finding a tutor for my son as I didn’t want him to think that he wasn’t doing well in his Maths. My son really liked Steve and his approach to learning. We have found that Maths is now a lot less of a struggle and our son’s confidence has grown so much. He is happy, enjoying his learning and cannot wait for every session whether in person or online. I would really recommend Steve at Happy Owls Tuition. My daughter has been having weekly lessons for the last year to help prepare for the Kent test. I was a bit worried about what she would think about having a tutor session after a full day at school but she’s always really enjoyed them and I think this is because Steve makes the lessons really interactive and keeps them fun and varied! He finds things that interest her and he has a really good rapport with her. There has never been any pressure and she’s not worried about the Kent test and is actually looking forward to it! We would definitely recommend Steve!

I cannot praise Steve enough for the support, guidance and confidence boost he has given my daughter over the past 18 months. She started at Happy Owls lacking confidence across the board after moving from London to a new school here in Kent. Steve didn’t follow a generic form of teaching; he quickly learned who my daughter was – her personality, her likes and dislikes, her learning style – and structured his lessons to ensure she grasped and retained the knowledge. Steve made learning fun again, and at the end of each session she looked forward to her next! My daughter started tuition with Happy Owls just this year, really struggling with her maths that she had fallen behind in. She hated Maths! I contacted happy owls after a school move where my daughter had lost all confidence in her ability. Steven responded quickly and made a regular slot for her to help rebuild her confidence and also help with the 11+ prep. My daughter loved how he called her by her preferred name and made such an effort to get to know her and her interests. As a parent it’s so lovely to see your child buzzing after a session, in my daughters words ” I learn more in an hour than a whole day at school”. She also always commented how “kind” Steve was. My daughter is now confident in herself and her ability and she is happy to challenge herself. I really can’t thank you enough! I would almost certainly recommend for every child.

Mrs Malhi is a fantastic, fun and patient tutor. She encourages our daughter to challenge herself in a way that does not push her too hard but builds her confidence. We love listening to Lottie when she has her maths lessons as she spends a lot of time laughing and always ends the lesson feeling positive and having had fun. Mrs Malhi has made a significant difference to our daughter’s maths skills but more importantly, her enjoyment of maths.
