At Happy Owls Tuition, we are always thinking about ways to support children’s learning beyond just formal lessons. That’s why each Wednesday on our Facebook page we share our “Word of the Week” — a fun, engaging way to help children expand their vocabulary and develop a love of language.
A rich vocabulary plays a huge role in a child’s success at school. It supports reading comprehension, strengthens writing, and helps children express their ideas clearly and confidently. Even more importantly, being curious about words helps children become curious learners in general.

Each week, we introduce a carefully chosen word, explain its meaning, and provide examples of how it can be used in everyday sentences. We love seeing children and parents get involved — whether that’s by sharing their own sentences, discussing the word together at home, or simply learning something new.
For example, a recent Word of the Week was “determined.” We talked about what it means to keep going even when something is tricky, and how this connects beautifully to learning, studying, and trying new challenges.

We encourage families to use the Word of the Week in conversation throughout the week — at the dinner table, on the way to school, or during homework time. You might be surprised how quickly new words become part of your child’s everyday language!
If you don’t already follow us on Facebook, come and join in — we’d love to see your sentences and ideas. Our Facebook page is: www.facebook.com/happyowlstuition We look forward to seeing you there!
